#114 - Interview with Amina Lovell
Opal Island is a book series revolving around Contessa (aka Tessa) on an island with a metaphysical barrier. Her island is on the brink of Chaos, and her family, the Dusabes, are in the middle of a leadership transition and general inheritance for the youngest member (Contessa). Who for her whole life believed she would never be accepted as a non-wolf. Everything starts to change after Nanzi, the old shapeshifter on the island, predicts the date for her transformation. In parish two, the Kwadio family has decided to the island for themselves and destroy the Dusabe family at all costs.
Amina Lovell was raised on the Islands now living here in the united states for 17 years. Opal Island is five years into the making, written by a writer that understands how to keep the story direct, clear, and easy to read. The best part is that Amina uses her childhood and life experience to make Opal Island, allowing us to understand what island culture is and the importance of tradition and family.
